Hardly a week seems to pass without more news of social media’s attempts to censor conservatives. One of the groups that has done great work in bringing Big Tech’s bias to light is Project Veritas. And the latest revelations from the group make it clear that the bias at Facebook starts right at the top.
One of Project Veritas’ greatest accomplishments is gaining the cooperation of insiders to reveal explosive information that otherwise the general public wouldn’t ever know. And with the latest round of revelations we have confirmation from the very highest levels of Facebook management that the company is full of bias.
Project Veritas’ latest revelations include hours of video from top Facebook executives, including founder Mark Zuckerberg. It includes revelations about company executives’ Democratic sympathies, as well as admissions that the company feels that it has too much power when it comes to online censorship.
According to Facebook’s head of global affairs, “There has been quite a lot of disquiet expressed by many leaders around the world…ideally we wouldn’t be making these decisions on our own, we would be making these decisions in line with our own conformity, with democratically agreed rules and principles. At the moment, those democratically agreed rules don’t exist. We still have to make decisions in real-time.” Oh really? Facebook and other social media giants want to keep themselves free from government interference by claiming to be platforms rather than publishers. Yet their history of censorship shows that they’re clearly trying to push a left-wing agenda, making them more akin to a publisher.
While the latest revelations don’t tell us anything that we didn’t know before, and in a way is preaching to the choir, maybe these videos will help convince those sitting on the fence that social media firms aren’t disinterested observers but rather are partisan opponents against whom we’ll have to fight.
