Liberal documentary film producer Michael Moore discounted polls showing Democratic nominee for president Joe Biden ahead of President Donald Trump, warning that the Republican incumbent’s support is underestimated.

“The Trump vote is always being undercounted, the pollsters, when they actually call a real Trump voter, the Trump voter’s very suspicious of the ‘deep state’ calling them and asking them who they’re voting for,” Moore said Thursday on TheHill.com’s video show ”Rising.

“It’s all fake news to them, remember. It’s not an accurate count. I think the safe thing to do, this is not scientific … whatever they’re saying the Biden lead is, cut it in half, right now, in your head. Cut it in half, and now you’re within the four-point margin of error.”

Moore predicted in 2016 that Trump would defeat Hillary Clinton, and as early as last December predicted Trump would be reelected.

He justified his latest prediction in August by saying that enthusiasm among Trump supporters was ”off the charts.”

On Thursday, Moore explained his reasoning by citing how Biden’s seven-point lead in one poll in Moore’s home state of Michigan was less than half of an earlier one that showed him ahead by 16 points.

“Trump has tightened virtually every one of these swing states to the point where – what are they saying this morning? … ‘Biden’s five points ahead in Wisconsin … maybe three points ahead in Florida, two points ahead in Arizona’ … Listen, don’t believe these polls,” Moore said Thursday.

He added that Trump was an ”evil genius” in his ability to win an election.
